Robert Longo got into his hands Edmumd Engelman's photo book and according to these photos he created a series of large-scale charcoal drawings entitled: The Freud Drawings. I got into my hands 10 years old newspapers with article including photos foreshadowing time, atmosphere and personality of Freud and Robert Longo's work. I will create installation using my own means of expression that invites you in the Sigmund Freud's room as I imagine it.

Development of overdetermination in Freud's theories

The thesis traces the development of the concept of overdetermination in Freud's thought. In his writings we can trace the shift from the implicitly formed idea of determinate memories, through the introduction of the concept of overdetermination, to the clear establishment of its place in relation to other concepts in his theory. The thesis thus attempts to capture the term in its full meaning in relation to the actual theories that were developing in the period and attempts to capture the term in its full, and if possible, exhaustive meaning.

Freudian psychoanalysis and the literature of Vienna's modern art in chosen texts by Arthur Schnitzler and Stefan Zweig.

Subject of the present thesis is an analysis of relations between Freudian psychoanalysis and the literature of Vienna's modern art in chosen texts by Arthur Schnitzler and Stefan Zweig. At first, thesis gives an overview of Freudian way to psychoanalysis, topic of sexuality and his attitude to Vienna and to anti-Semitism. These explanations are followed by a portrait of two Freudian compositions - Creative Writers and Day-Dreaming and Sexual Morality and Modern Nervosity (both 1908). Then Vienna's modern art and the authors Arthur Schnitzler and Stefan Zweig with their works Fraulein Else (1924) and Amok (1922) are explained. Joke as an Expression of Collective Memory: Conjunction of Maurice Halbwachs' and Sigmund Freud's theories

(in English): The bachelor thesis is founded on the interdisciplinary connection of two classic scholars' approaches in psychology and sociology, in a broader frame the topic of collective memory. Specifically, it aims to theoretical application of thoughts of Sigmund Freud, introduced in his book Jokes and Their Relation to the Unconscious, to the theory of collective memory by Maurice Halbwachs; thus explaining joke as an expression of collective memory. The paper shows an interdisciplinary relationship of texts by the mentioned authors and also discusses the possibility of supporting sociological theory of memory by thoughts of one of the most influential psychologists. In the first part, the concept of collective memory by Maurice Halbwachs is introduced. It is explained in sociological context and with consideration of the influences of linguistic social framework of the memory. Another connection of those two main themes is explained through the concept of unconsciousness, which is the main topic of the second part of thesis, together with Freud's ideas. The last part is dedicated to the very hypothesis about the possible explanation of the joke as an expression of collective memory. This paper discusses the perspective of Sigmund Freud on the figure of Moses. It seeks to understand the reasons for writing the book, thought paradigms, historical images, which were thought to author axis. A large part is dedicated to criticism of Freud's works, as well as psychoanalysis, which for him was a key area for understanding the history of the Jewish nation, which was constituted after a period of suppressed neuroses. Short Stories of Kōno Taeko

(in English): The topic of this work is the characteristics of the short stories by Kono Taeko. At first I am presenting the methodology - psychoanalysis. Then, I'm describing her life for better understanding of the use of some typical features. Especially the war and the tuberculosis had influence on her work. Subsequently I present possible interpretation of her stories in term of Shintoism (effort to purify) and Buddhism (achievement of liberation). In interpersonal relations Kono Taeko deals mainly with man- woman relationships and her attitude can be considered feminist. In the most comprehensive chapter concerning masochism I am trying to prove with Freud's theory "The child is being beaten" that her work is masochistic. In the end I am generalizing my findings. This work contains Czech translations of examples of her work and contains 68 pages.

The Esthetics of the Scream in Albert Camus Opus

The main topic of this diploma thesis resides in the comparison of the expressionist painting and the existential literature in connection with the motif of screaming. Despite the temporal and geographical distance of the two artistic movements (we are focused more profoundly in the German and Austrian expressionist painting, while the main literary work of this thesis, the existential novel The Fall comes from the great mind of a French writer, Albert Camus), the research aspires to prove the interconnection of the two movements and their common tendencies, based on the analyses of chosen themes, motifs, technics, and structure. We propose the motif of screaming as the main part of the comparison, as it constitutes an essential axis of the occidental art, as well as the crucial contact point between Expressionism and Existentialism. In spite of the bountifulness of the various interpretations this motif offers, we have chosen only selected ideas and concepts. As far as the formal structure is concerned, the work is divided into three chapters, where the first two are focused on the origins, a brief characterization of the main point of the two esthetics.
